Avanti (2004)
Created in the shadow of the abandoned Studebaker plant and using exclusive documentary footage of the factory, Avanti is a site-specific performance that depicts the 1963 closing of the independent auto maker using an ultra-widescreen video projection. The ghost story foreshadows the decline of American manufacturing and reanimates the industrial shell that still haunts the national landscape and psyche.
